Help with accommodation

Finding and keeping permanent accommodation

Having a place to live and work to do are both vital in preventing further re-offending.

Essex CRC’s Housing Liaison Officers based in every Delivery Unit aim to signpost offenders into stable accommodation. They provide information advice and guidance to offenders on housing issues. We also work with the homeless charity Shelter to provide specialist advice on housing law, and to act as advocates for offenders seeking accommodation.

Working in partnership with the public, private and voluntary sectors across the county, we aim to improve offenders’ access to stable accommodation: a public protection measure, as research tells us.

We have a good relationship with many housing providers across the county, and we’re always keen to make new connections. If you’d like to talk to us about providing accommodation in the community or to work with us to improve it, our Partnerships Team at the Chelmsford Hub, would be pleased to hear from you.
