Visitors from Norway get a taste of Probation in Basildon:

Drammen prison, in Norway, is small. Very small. And situated opposite a ski slope, next to a river. Its staff experienced a bit of a contrast in geography, when they visited Felmores Approved Premises (AP) and our Basildon office, in October. But they decided there were more similarities than differences by the end of their half‐day there.

Two AP residents helped present the Felmores picture, and Offender Manager Sarah Thompson described her experience of working from her probation office with staff in Felmores.

Basildon office took over the afternoon slot, with offender managers engaging in live discussion with their Norwegian guests. Drammen staff, mostly a mix of social workers and prison officers, were grateful.
