Community Payback Rules

You must:

  • Report for work on time and work every week on the day(s) that you are instructed
  • Tell your case manager if you change address
  • Tell your case manager if for any reason you will not be able to attend for work. If possible this should be done in advance and must be done within two days of the date you were instructed to work
  • If required provide written proof of absence i.e. work reasons, illness, dental appointments, interviews etc., within 7 days of your instructed work day. You can submit 3 self-certificates. Any further absences for medical reasons will require a doctors certificate
  • Work to the best of your ability and carry out the instructions of your Supervisor
  • Remain at work until you are told you may leave
  • Behave responsibly at work
  • Take care of your own and other people’s safety
  • Come prepared for work and wear suitable clothing and footwear. Shorts and vest tops are not acceptable
  • Wear protective clothing as instructed (e.g. hard hats, safety boots) and return them each day
  • Bring something for your lunch and a non-alcoholic drink (you will not be allowed to leave the work site to buy lunch)
  • Respect beneficiaries of Community Service and their property
  • Mobile phones or personal stereos are not to be used whilst on workgroups
  • You must inform Community Service of any changes in your medical or personal circumstances, which may affect your ability to work

You must not:

  • Use any language that will cause offence to anyone
  • Behave or talk in a way which gives offence to anyone
  • Treat anyone unfairly, threaten or bully anyone
  • Consume or be under the influence of drugs or alcohol
  • Smoke unless you are given permission to do so
  • Have visitors on site

Important Information

Breach action has been explained in full and you understand that in the event of breach action being taken relevant extracts of the contact log will be made available to the prosecution and defence solicitors

Issues concerning the welfare of children and criminal activity could mean that information about you will be shared with other appropriate agencies.
